Banks traditionally invest in security and follow industry standards of information security. That is why, in comparison with other companies, their security has increased in recent years. The number of attacks on financial institutions is decreasing, and this can be explained by the fact that an attacker must have very high qualifications to withdraw money from a bank.

Previously, stealing money directly from an organization was the main way for hackers to make a profit.

It was access to bank transfer systems that gave them the opportunity to withdraw huge amounts to their accounts. Now the attackers have developed new criminal schemes and began to use cryptographers, which made it possible to significantly expand the industry spectrum of the attacked: you can choose a less secure large company from any branch of the economy. And the main source of profit was extortion, which does not require great skill and deep knowledge of infrastructure, as in the case of financial organizations.
