Transportation

Public transportation in Vienna...

…. is so great, you will be far better off taking a metro / tram than a taxi or Uber (there is no Lyft in Austria). We do not recommend renting a car, as it is slower and less convenient.

WU is very conveniently located between the subway U2 stations Messe-Prater and Krieau. Both metro stops are about the same walking distance (5-7mins) to the main venue.

Prices: Single trip - 2,40€; 24h - 8,00€; 48h - 14,10€, 76h - 17,10€, week ticket - 17,10€

You can buy tickets online at wienerlinien.at or download the Wiener Linien ticket app and buy the tickets directly in the app. Every subway station has ticket machines, too. Most of the trams have ticket machines on-board (cash only!). No tickets can be bought on busses or from the drivers.

City bikes works easily with a EU credit card. 1 hour for free. You can find two city bike lots on WU Vienna campus.

If you are planning to use your own transportation, parking is available at (first hour for free, each additional hour €2.20, or €22.00 total per day).

It is also easy to move via taxi. Especially in the city centre, it is easy to quickly find a taxi.
